Darrick Wood Infant School

Darrick Wood Infant and Nursery School is a thriving and happy community!  We have high expectations of achievement, attainment and behaviour and we are committed to every child achieving their absolute best regardless of background or starting point.

We believe that true education is a result of a partnership between parents, children and the school and we will strive for that close co-operation which will give your child the very best foundation for his/her educational career.

We believe that happy children learn best in an environment where they feel safe and secure.

Every day brings new challenges and opportunities and I am very happy to be a part of such a fantastic learning community and associated with such a strong teaching staff. We have been designated a National Lead Support School and have been independently reviewed by an OFSTED inspector and accredited outstanding status under the new OFSTED framework. In addition we have nationally recognised facilitation status for closing the attainment gap between children on the Free School Meals register and their peers.

Burnt Ash Primary School

We are a friendly and vibrant school, with a committed staff who work hard to ensure that all children reach their full potential. Our results reflect the rapid progress that all our children make during their time at the school and their high levels of academic achievement.

We have a passion to develop a love of reading in children as early as possible. There is a high focus on learning phonics and reading skills in the infants and children quickly reach and exceed national expectations. This prepares them well for the challenges of the whole curriculum as they enter Key stage 2.
