The Ignite Group
Ignite consists of Oaklands Primary Academy plus Strategic Partners with links to other schools, universities and the Local Authority. The schools have a wide range of expertise and have a history of working together in a collaborative way. Through our work with Other Schools, Bromley Local Authority and other Alliances we aim to share good practice. We work closely together which ensures that we have collaboration learning for our staff and our pupils. This is a supportive partnership of schools who share the same high values and aspirations for teaching and learning.
A key strength of Ignite is the provision of high quality CPD and supporting teacher training. We provide succession leadership coaching and are keen to support opportunities for promotion for all staff. We are particularly keen to develop research skills within Ignite, starting at Oaklands, with a major focus on improving the progress of SEN children, pupil voice within SEN and developing high quality learning environments.
Ignite is keen to build on all its strengths in learning and teaching, not only in supporting local schools but also in publishing materials that will support schools further afield.
We are a friendly and vibrant school, with a committed staff who work hard to ensure that all children reach their full potential. Our results reflect the rapid progress that all our children make during their time at the school and their high levels of academic achievement.
We have a passion to develop a love of reading in children as early as possible. There is a high focus on learning phonics and reading skills in the infants and children quickly reach and exceed national expectations. This prepares them well for the challenges of the whole curriculum as they enter Key stage 2.
