Oaklands Primary are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Cleaning Operative to join our team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE

Assist as an individual and/ or member of a team the cleaning of designated areas within the school premises as directed by the Premises Manger to ensure they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Organisation

Bring to the attention of the Line Manager any defects or problems that may arise in the fabric or working of the building or the cleaning equipment.

Move equipment and furniture where necessary to enable effective cleaning of areas and to return and reinstate.

Resources

Ensure that all equipment, chemicals and additional resources are treated with respect and kept safe during and after use.

Responsibilities

To carry out all cleaning tasks and duties as specified and directed by the line manager in accordance with the appropriate cleaning standards and specific school policy.

Ensure that all cleaning tasks and duties are carried out in a safe and proper manner utilising the appropriate equipment and chemicals.

Ensure that due care and attention is taken at all times with regards to Health and Safety and all practices and procedures.

Attend meetings and participate in training as required.

Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the school.

Provide to customers/clients the specified standard and level of service that is expected, noting and passing on any shortfalls or potential improvements.

Fully and positively participate in the Academy’s performance appraisal/ performance related pay/performance development scheme in order to develop and enhance personal and service performance.
